Welcome to our website! 

We, at Temple, are persons on a journey of faith.  Our church seeks to be a worshipping and serving community where the gospel of Jesus Christ is modeled and proclaimed.  Our church is Baptist in tradition and heritage, but in our worship we seek to incorporate the richness of other Christian traditions.  As we minister in our community, we seek to be the presence of Christ conveying God's love beyond the lines of any denomination.  We receive members by affirmation of their faith or by transfer from other Christian churches.  We honor the previous baptism of persons coming to Temple from other Christian traditions.

Please sign the chart posted on the bulletin board outside the Fellowship Hall if you and your car will be a part of the trick or treating.

Children and others may wear costumes.  A parent or other adult must accompany children to the designated area.

Our program this year uses the theme of cooking at a café to teach children about what it means to follow Jesus.  Each day’s theme will highlight a festival in the Bible and connect it to a simple, easy-to-remember truth from the Bible.  Our kids will have great fun each day as they move from station to station making crafts, making their own snacks, learning a Bible story and singing fun and energetic songs!

To make this happen we need “all hands on deck!”  We are looking for lots of volunteers to make this happen.  We need folks to help decorate (turn our fellowship hall into a café!), folks to work with the children, folks to run the stations, and lots of set up and clean up!  If you are interested in being a part please talk with Scott.

We hope that you will spread the word and invite friends and neighbors to be a part.

There will hot dogs and drinks for sell along with a bake sale. Proceeds will go toward new educational materials to be shared by the school and Sunday School classes. We also will need 10 desserts that will serve 24 people prepared and returned to the church to go with the casseroles. Please pick up a pan from the church on the first Sunday and prepare brownies or sheet cake. Bring to church on the following Sunday. Sign-up sheets are locared in front of the office for preparing a casserole or dessert. Just sign your name under the date and type of food you wish to prepare.

There is a second sign-up sheet for those who wish to actually go to Urban Ministries to serve meals. Sign up for Monday night, or choose to help out with a breakfast or lunch. Just sign the apprpriate list. For more opportunities to serve at Urban Ministries please go to www.umdurham.org.
