 Small Group Options:

 Focus: “You are what you eat” This group will spend time talking about the connections between our faith, our food and our earth.  We will consider responsible ways of eating, both for reasons of health but also for reasons of environmental stewardship.  We will consider the spiritual implications of the food we buy and eat.  We will study the Bible, read chapters by leading scholars and even do some cooking ourselves!  It will be fun, challenging and enlightening.

· Facilitated by Mary Elizabeth Hanchey and Scott Hovey

· Where and When: This group is for people with busy schedules!  We will find creative times to meet.  If you are interested then sign up and we will work together to find times to meet.

Focus: Forgiving as We’ve Been Forgiven (tentative)  This group will extend the conversation that began with The Shack and focus on the topic of forgiveness.  This group will read Forgiving As We’ve Been Forgivenby L. Gregory Jones and Celestin Musekura.  Jones is former Dean of Duke Divinity School and a leading scholar on the practice of forgiveness.  Musekura is a witness to the Rwandan genocide of 1994 and leading teacher of forgiveness and reconciliation.

· Where: Home of Jim and Michel Williams (directions to follow)

· When: Monday Evenings at 7:00pm

Focus: The Young(er) Adult Small Group An opportunity for young professionals in their 20's, 30's and 40's (50’s?) to create a sense of biblical community through support, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

· Facilitated by Mike Ellis

· Where: Sterling Road House "parlor" (Back room)

· When: Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30

Focus: Working with Puppets for Ministry This small group workshop will teach the basics of puppetry:  finding a voice, talking through a puppet, working with a puppet stage, finding scripts, writing scripts and alternative types of puppetry.

· When: Monday evenings at 7:00pm

 How to sign up:

 1) Look for flyers in the church bulletin during the month of February.  There is a tear-off sheet at the bottom.  Fill it out, tear it off and place it in offering basket (or hand it to Scott Hovey).

2) Sign-up Online.  Click here to sign-up!

3) Look for the Small Group Sign-up table after the worship service.  It will be set up in the foyer (outside the church office).
